Sonder is defined as ‘The profound feeling of realising that everyone, including strangers passing in the street, has a life as complex as one’s own, which they are constantly living despite one’s personal lack of awareness of it.’ Each member of the Might Grey’s team, when playing against the Wellington pub side, would have had a different experience of the game. They would have had different interactions with the opposition and different feelings and emotions regarding how the game unfolded. Some may have missed pivotal moments of the match and some may be thinking about their personal performance, even now. Lucky for us all, a local artist, unknown to the Greys, was lurking in the background on the afternoon of the 14th July, probably going unnoticed behind the rowdy school kids and drunk England fans. Inspired by some of the defining moments of the match, the unknown artist has been busy putting paint to paper to produce a snapshot of the game to celebrate the great cricketing moments and awe inspiring Greys victory that day.

Statto’s report
What do you do when you should be working the day after your dreams have been crushed (again)? The stats obvs…
Excitement in the season’s stats – a new leader in the batting, Biffo muscles his way past Dom with his second consecutive 45. In the bowling QB is making an early breakaway, 8 clear of the chasing group. Catches is now the only table topped by Bumbo.
In the lifetimes a slightly late mention to Dunc who has joined the “100 club”. It actually happened on tour but I must have missed it amongst all the other tom foolery.
Next week were off to Streat.
National news round-up
Obviously a game between the Mighty Greys and The Duke of Wellington is highly newsworthy, but rarely have we seen a game attract quite so much attention from the national and international media. But here’s a round up of the coverage from elsewhere…

I hate Duncan
Now someone is masquerading as me and leaving rude comments about Duncan. Obviously, speaking as your old friend Alex49f28ba2ea2, I don’t endorse those words in any way.
yes Jake! New forms, new mediums! A serious contender 🤩
