  • Dom says we are in discussion with the Zambucca tigers to hire out all 3 nets.
  • Nets will start soon on Tuesdays 9-10

Captain’s report.

  • Damp quid to start..no win until Bodle St in June!!
  • Tour was amazing
  • Lost 11, won 9 – first time Benny has a negative
  • welcome to new players Adam – who also was great at bringing in new players, Tim Laing – who took more catches than played games, and Guy!.
  • overall this has been easier to get players
  • lots of occasionals who seem to be transitioning into more regulars which is great!
  • thanks to Robbie for taking over the treasurer role and a special thanks to Hatrick for all his efforts
  • thanks again to Robbie for his impeccable stats as always!
  • and thanks Alex as always for an amazing fixture sectretary
  • and thanks to the secretaries for posting match reports
  • standout games – Sidbury and Southwater,
  • well done to Diamond for his amazing effort throughout
  • Bumbo for scoring most runs in a season apart from Del
  • Double for being exceptional for with bat and ball

it’s normally about nets and we’ve already covered this.

  • off the top of my head – a very good season
  • …it was really nice

Treasurer’s report.

  • not a lot to say
  • I think I know how much came in
  • we now have £382 – we have made a profit of £132 but we will need to subtract engraving and AGM.
  • we then discuss whether to put match fees up to £12-£15…Dan also gives a Precis about a possible membership system
  • we talk about “peak tea” but it seems very clear that teas are pretty much no longer
  • we vote to keep the match fees at £10

Secretary’s report.

  • 93,948 career hits 
  • 1932 visitors in 2023

  • Best hits of all time: 
  • Need to get on with match report writing – this year was worst ever so far…possibly a system in place?  
  • Let’s aim for ‘impeccable’ record keeping : 
  • record match details (e.g. batting first), outcomes (e.g. who won), catches/names in scorebook 
  • aim to give description of PSM in match report AND match outcome 
  • should we have some training on scoring and umpiring? 
  • thanks to Robbie – our stats are awesome!!!! 
  • what to do when occasional writes PSM – jerry says we need a system for this – perhaps those who let’s aim for came second?
  • include Robbie’s blurb into match report/post

T20 report.

  • great success this year…
  • played 5 won 2 – good win over Portslade

  • EO did a straw poll about adding comments to the website, Duncan agrees to look at ways to add ways to interact with the website, show likes, and add comments

    • we request that the moral compost of the team is maintained
    • we all agree too this
  • we reiterate that the highest ranking in PSM list need to write match report if an occasional wins PSM, or EO will do it

  1. Top work GROTY. Helped me remember some stuff which was strangely hazy.
    Re occasionals and PSM, would it be simpler if we just said they can be nommed, but we don’t vote for them?
